World Oral Health Day
The Sreepur Village, Bangladesh, is raising awareness for oral health and in line with this year's official campaign 'say ahh: act on mouth health', dentists visit our mothers and their children twice a year ensuring that their oral health is in check.
As most of the mothers and children that come to the village are from rural areas, using a toothbrush isn't heard of. So, on that basis, we provide every one of our 600 beneficiaries with a toothbrush and equip them with the knowledge required to keep their oral hygiene healthy.
Our nutritional programme is also beneficial because it educates our mothers in the foods that are healthy and those which are harmful to your health and teeth and along with learning to brush twice a day, our mothers become aware of their health which empowers them to independently look after themselves and their children.
Rima, a ten year old girl, moved to The Sreepur Village in 2017, she told us that when she was living in her community she didn't clean her teeth properly but now with the Sreepur Clinic and dentists that visit twice a year, she now knows how to properly clean her teeth twice a day and is aware of the damages of not cleanly and eating unhealthily can cause.
Your donations really do count, from providing toothbrushes to running health workshops, the more we can empower our women to independence, the brighetr the future for more families.
