Trustees Week 2021 - Derek Palmer

Trustees Week 2021 - Derek Palmer

We are launching this year's trustees week by sharing with you the work of one of our dedicated trustees, Derek Palmer.

After graduating from University, Derek Palmer joined De Beers in 1972 as a statistician. Over the next 30 years, he was appointed to increasingly senior positions from Market Research Manager, Marketing Director of Europe and America, Director of Asia Pacific and finally as Communications Director.

Derek then joined Pluczenik, one of the world’s largest Sight holders as their Global Marketing Director.

Over the last eleven years, Derek has helped develop downstream marketing activities in every major consumer market.

Derek is married to Pat Kerr, MBE, who founded The Sreepur Village in Bangladesh which over 32 years has been the subject of many documentaries.
We asked Derek if he could describe The Sreepur Village in just three words what would he say, "Secure, Friendly and Family".

Derek lives in London ,Thailand and Bangladesh.

Pat continues to dedicate her life to hundreds of destitute Bangladeshi mothers and children in need of shelter, safety and care.

It is with the generous support that we receive from our donors, trustees, corporate partners and volunteers that The Sreepur Village is able to provide more families with life-saving opportunities that will empower them with hope for a brighter future.
