The Preparations of Pohela Boishakh have begun...

As Pohela Boishakh (Bengali New Year) approaches this weekend preparations are well under way at The Sreepur Village.  It is here once more, that charming time of the year when the age-old Bengali spirit of festivity is renewed to welcome the Bengali New Year. Pohela Boishakh is practically around the corner and there are arrangements a plenty to praise this celebration.

Preparations for Pohela Boishakh and Mongol Shovajatra, a mass procession of good wishes that takes place at dawn on the first day of the New Year are gathering steam in Sreepur Village. Our entire school is working round the clock to organise the traditional Pohela Boishakh and Mongol Shovajatra. For the Mongol Shovajatra procession under the supervision of our resident artist, all our students are making a giant animal replica, frighteningly colourful masks and they are also making paintings ahead of Pohela Boihshakh.  Mongol Shovajatra will start from The Sreepur Village ground early morning on the 14th April. We will also arrange some programmes and events for our mothers and children. They will visit various village fairs in the afternoon and we also arrange a cultural function on our campus. Stayed tuned…
