Independence Day 2019

The Sreepur Village observed Independence Day with a host of activities.

The day began with a cub-scout parade in the grounds of the village which was followed by everyone proudly reciting the national anthem.

Later in the morning, the children watched a film called Lal Sabujer Chor, which was based on the liberation movement and our resident artist created an art and writing competition, where everyone could express their thoughts and feeling on this day. The winners were awarded during a prize giving ceremony in the afternoon. 

Above all, our children enjoyed stepping into the past to learn about a significant day in Bangladeshi history, and looking to the future,The Sreepur Village continues to find ways of empowering the lives of our mothers and their children, freeing them from oppression, violence and poverty.
