Girls' Cricket Tournament

Girls' Cricket Tournament

It was a bright and sunny day on the 12th of March when Sreepur Village hosted day one of the girls' cricket tournament.

Day one of the tournament was held in the grounds of the Sreepur project and was inaugurated by Pat Kerr, the overseas director of Sreepur Village together with the local chairman.

Dressed in their team's green uniform, the Sreepur girls' cricket team were excited and honoured to be representing Sreepur in their first match against one of the seven local school teams who are all competing in this month's tournament.

"I would love to play for Bangladesh one day" says Mia a 15 year old girl living at Sreepur Village and a player in our girls' cricket tournament.

As the event began, Pat Kerr and the local chairman spoke about the importance of extracurricular activities and how they help to shape the character of young girls.

Playing cricket empowers our girls with confidence to ensure equal opportunities for a fairer future.
